Range Of Project Experience

Typical projects undertaken by Marine Ecological Surveys Ltdover the past 10-years include:-
(i). Site Appraisals: Where environmental resources and their sensitivity to disturbance are assessed as one of the factors which controls the suitability of a site for development. Liability of purchasers for environmental damage is an important factor in both site acquisition and insurance for a wide range of commercial activities from chemical industries, to Ports & Harbours developments, major construction projects and the hotel & leisure industry.
(ii). Environmental Impact Assessments: These have been carried out by Marine Ecological Surveys worldwide, mainly in relation to major chemical industrial projects and for the leisure & tourism industry including land reclamation schemes. An increasing number of contracts have been for the marine mining and marine aggregate dredging industries.
(iii). Eco-Audit & Monitoring Programmes: Marine Ecological Surveys Ltd has carried out a major series of up to ten international eco-audit and environmental monitoring programmes per year over the past 29 years. Our staff have authored over 200 detailed monitoring and assessment reports for clients.
(iv). Representation of Clients: We represent clients at Public Inquiry, brief legal representatives of clients and give Expert Testimony in cases of alleged environmental damage.
(v). Primary Research: A good deal of our recent work centres on primary research on the impact of major projects including dredging and marine aggregate mining on the benthic biological resources leading to fish. Our staff have international experience in marine science and are able to advise clients on appropriate cost- effective mitigation measures to minimise impact on the marine environment. The results of our work are generally published in the international literature and are also made available under Recent Publications as a download or please e-mail us.
