A good deal of our recent work centres on primary research on the impact of major projects including dredging and marine aggregate mining on the benthic biological resources leading to fish. Our staff have international experience in marine science and are able to advise clients on appropriate cost- effective mitigation measures to minimise impact on the marine environment.

Marine Ecological Surveys Ltd. has carried out numerous eco-audit and environmental impact monitoring programmes over the past 29 years for major projects worldwide. These have typically involved a series of up to 10 surveys per year, each requiring a full evaluation of the impact of coastal development projects on community structure, fisheries and wildlife resources. The results are confidential to clients, but have been summarised in some cases in the international literature by our staff in collaboration with clients.

Where environmental resources and their sensitivity to disturbance are assessed as one of the factors which controls the suitability of a site for development. Liability of purchasers for environmental damage is an important factor in both site acquisition and insurance for a wide range of commercial activities from chemical industries, to Ports & Harbours developments, major construction projects and the hotel & leisure industry.

These have been carried out by Marine Ecological Surveys worldwide, mainly in relation to major chemical industrial projects and for the leisure & tourism industry including land reclamation schemes. An increasing number of contracts have been for the marine mining and marine aggregate dredging industries.
