Bryan’s final year project was a collaboration between the university and the Natural History Museum to provide Kent Wildlife trust with data on macrofaunal species composition of the South Swale Local Nature Reserve mudflats. This was to help manage migratory bird conservation and human activities. That led to a baseline survey of the mudflats of Sherkin Island, Co. Cork, for the voluntary marine station there after graduation. Then in 2000 he started working for Unicomarine as a trainee analyst. Along with a colleague he opened Unicomarine’s second lab in Plymouth where he worked until he left in 2006 to work freelance having become an experienced senior biologist.
He joined MES as a remote worker in December 2008.
