2006:- Volunteer for project ‘Archelon’ the sea turtle protection society of Greece.
 

  • Trainee Benthic Taxonomist Sieving samples and sorting fauna into major taxonomic group, biomassing into major taxonomic group and individual species.
  • Surveys include London Gateway Mucking Flats using a day grab, processing samples on board vessels.
  • Jen is a JNCC Accredited PRO-MMO.
  • Scheduling the overall projects of Marine Ecological Surveys Ltd using Microsoft Project. Coordinating timings and deadlines of both laboratory and reporting stages.
  • Researching and sourcing literature.
  • Organizing the academic resource library and providing an accessible reference database for effective research.
  • Whilst working for project Archelon Jen conducted night and morning surveys, including tagging nesting females
  • Jen’s dissertation examined the importance of limpet (Patella spp) grazing on the control of algae assemblages and overall ecology of the rocky shores of Osmington Mills, Dorset.
